'Intoxication' a warm-up for carnival

The 2012 carnival season is some weeks away and Ocho Rios, St Ann-based promotional team More Juice Family is already gearing up to deliver an exciting soca experience. The promoters are currently promoting an exclusive event, Intoxication, intended to create an early carnival atmosphere.

The Family's Lynval Green describes Intoxication as a warm-up. "This event is the pre-party for one of the hypest soca parties called Soca Palooza, so it is like a warm-up for carnival," he said. Intoxication is planned for Friday, February 3, at Club Ville, Margaritaville, Ocho Rios. The event will take the form of a pool party dubbed the 'Wild Passion Edition'.

According to Green, it is all about the ladies. "The concept of the Wild Passion Edition is to cater to the ladies with the raving desires. With that idea in mind, ladies wearing bikinis will get free admission into the event before 11:30 p.m.," he said.

He said that anticipation is already building for Intoxication and a huge turnout is expected. "Our event page on Facebook received 500 attendance confirmations in just five days, so we are expecting a really good turnout. People are talking about it because Soca Palooza is a very big party, so this one has to be big too," he said.

Refreshment specials

Patrons will benefit from free Jello Shots, Happy Hour between 10 p.m. and 11p.m and a dry clubbing area for those who wish to stay away from the pool. Admission is $600 and this, Green believes, will give everybody a chance to indulge. There will be no presold tickets. "We try to make it affordable for everybody, because we want people to come out and enjoy themselves. It is not just about money; it is about having as much fun as possible for one night," he said.

Security will be provided by the police and detox will be made accessible, courtesy of Margaritaville. "Safety is guaranteed and we have a spacious parking area that will also be protected, so parking will not be an issue," Green said.

The DJs slated to share the wheels of steel are ZJ Vybz, DJ Vodka, Sound Fuze, Illusion and Code Red.

"Persons should come to this party because this is the sexiest pool party and the experience will be blissful," Green advised.
