Tryall Club to exude international flavours
TRYALL, Hanover:
International tV host and writer, Amy Hanten, will be the first of visiting chefs to engage in a cultural exchange in which recipes and cooking secrets will be shared at the Tryall Club in Hanover.
On Monday, January 23, Hanten, who has marvelled at the culinary ingenuity of Jamaicans and the warmth of the people on the island, will join Tryall's executive and junior sous chefs, Kai Bechinger and Milton McNish, to get insightful preparation techniques on jerked chicken.
She will also visit Sugar Hill villa where the resident cook, Marika Dunn, will give her tips in preparing rice and peas. Hanten will be preparing a Jamaica Me Crazy trifle.
"I hope to bring back a few great Jamaican recipes. While I'm there, I'll even share one of my own - a tropical fruit trifle!" she said. "I'm so excited to celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary at The Tryall Club! The Tryall Club has everything we're looking for from tennis, to the beach, beautiful villas, and of course, great food!"
Tryall's director of guest services, Richard Ferdinand, said the resort is looking forward to hosting Hanten.
Committed to good food
"Tryall is committed to providing good food. This year, we intend to showcase the cooking skills of our talented cooks and chefs through cooking classes for members and guests, and to learn from visiting chefs, who we will be hosting during the course of the year," he said.
Hanten hosts a television show called Fox 11's Living With Amy and recently published her first cookbook, The Cooking Mom.
She also has a blog called The Cooking Mom, which gives kitchen and cooking tips - from recipes to the best products to use in the kitchen.
