WESTERN BUREAU:

It's not as if Cocoa Tea did not try to disrobe; it's the length of time that it took for him to complete the task. Cocoa Tea, take a bow! You were fantastic!

And it's not as if Stephen Marley could have done it without Junior 'Gong', his brother. The two applied a special energy to the grounds of Jamaica House.

And, of course, it's not as if I-Octane was not on a natural high. The challenge he had was Shaggy, Tarrus Riley and Beres Hammond who were just as scorching hot.

Shaggy and Friends 2012 was exactly that - scorching hot!

The thousands who turned out to support this worthy cause have committed to this friendship. By 11 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, the organisers were boasting of $57 million in their coffers from corporate Jamaica, gate receipts, auctions and general donations.

This was money that the children at the Bustamante Hospital for Children had an opportunity to watch being raked in on big-screen televisions from the confines of the grounds at the medical facility.

Even the people in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew, were privy to the master charity event that has not been equalled anywhere else in this country.

Kudos to corporate Jamaica for partnering in such a big way and making this event bigger and better!

So, could Lauryn Hill have stayed home? A resounding yes! Unless her appearance at this spectacular event was all for charity.

Until another year, one ticket = one life!
