CASTRIES (CMC):

Newly elected Prime Minister Kenny Anthony was scheduled to arrive last night for a visit that will include talks with Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller, herself newly returned to office, according to a government statement released here.

"Prime Minister Anthony will also be meeting Prime Minister of Jamaica Portia Simpson Miller to discuss several matters of mutual interest," the statement from the prime minister's office said.

Anthony, as a guest of the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, will also deliver the keynote address at a UWI conference to mark 50 years of Jamaica's Independence, it added.

He will later be the guest speaker at a dinner in honour of Simpson Miller's predecessor, P.J. Patterson.

Anthony returns at the weekend, the prime minister's office said.
