Karen Clarke, promoter of the Youth View Awards (YVAs) and CEO of An Elegant Affair, revealed that this year's Youth View Award show will have a special element. 'So You Think You Can Dance' all-star contestant Comfort Fedoke will be choreographing a special dance routine for the YVAs.
"I have worked with her on the routine, and being such a big fan of dancing and the part it plays in music, I wanted to toss in a little bit of the hip-hop influence," said Clarke.
In a previous interview, Clarke had said she was giving some thought to having Fedoke as the only overseas act this year, as she wanted the focus to be mainly on Jamaican artistes.
"Jamaica is filled with so much talent," she had said.
Fedoke career
Comfort Fedoke, artistic director, dancer, actor, singer and choreographer, jump-started her career in dance by being part of the Dallas Dance Club 21, a local dance show in Dallas which prepared her for Fox's hit television series, 'So You Think You Can Dance'. Fedoke finished fourth in the competition-based television series' fourth season.
After her debut on that show, Fedoke went on to work with a number of persons in the American entertainment industry, such as Brian Friedman, Travis Payne, Stacy Walker, Miley Cyrus, and many more. She has also been featured in movies such as Honey 2, Footloose, The Voice, Glee, 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show', and most recently as one of the 'So You Think You Can Dance All-Stars'. She has also appeared in music videos such as Jasmine V's All These Boys, Frankie Finch's Such A Problem, and Jason Derulo's Don't Wanna Go Home.
Fedoke can be referred to as a 'jack of all trades', as she is now pursuing her career as a recording artiste after also doing live stage performances for the King of Pop: Michael Jackson Tribute Tour.
Tonight Fedoke can add Youth View Award Live stage (Jamaica) to her already growing résumé.
