WESTERN BUREAU:

Prospective investors hungry to do business with Jamaica were exposed the island's rich entertainment for two consecutive nights in the tourism capital, Montego Bay, on Wednesday and Thursday, March 1 and 2.

Some 400 visitors attending the inaugural JAMPRO-organised Jamaica Investment Forum in the Second City were fêted at the Iberostar Suites and the historic Rose Hall Great House each evening after some serious deliberations on the prospects available for investment.

On Wednesday, Philipp Hofer and his team at Iberostar opened the appetites at what could easily have been labelled a grand feast, while Michele Rollins and the Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall team changed the pace Thursday, showing the diversity of Jamaica.

By Friday morning, the Russians were ready to pump some serious money into ethanol and Fortune 500 company Convergys was looking at exactly where in Freeport it would set up shop.

Milton Samuda, Sancia Templer, Mark Thomas, Nicole Pandohie, Industry, Investment and Commerce Minister Anthony Hylton; Sharon Ffolkes-Abrahams, the junior minister, who continues to bat for the west, and the women and men who represented the Office of the Prime Minister Western Jamaica can feel proud - this event was a tremendous success.
