Schatzie brings summer's eye Candy

WESTERN BUREAU:Wright Style's Pat Wright and Schatzie's Katrin Casserly's fushia and black 'Candy' dresses remain on the lips of fashion aficionados in Montego Bay.
Eye candy, delicious and sweet are words that comes to mind when describing the 2012 summer designs by the Jamaican manufacturers who unveiled a number of tailored bias cut dresses, skirts and tops last Friday night at the official opening of Schatzie Fairview.
Complementing the dresses, Wright and Casserly introduced a beaded dress, men's shirts, and a host of Brand Jamaican clothing designed for those who enjoy elegance, ease and sophistication.
The two, who work mostly with 100 per cent handkerchief linen in various weights and dyed cotton voile, say that because their clothes are produced locally, they plan to introduce new styles every other month.
"In August, you will see a lot of green, yellow and black as well as white linen with bandana," reveals Casserly.
And with Schatzie, recently becoming an allied member of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, Casserly says they will be exporting to boutiques in the Caribbean.
"We are targeting The Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Turks and Caicos and Barbados to start with," they note.
When the designs leave their Freeport factory, they can be found at Schatzie at the elegant Round Hill Hotel and Villas and most recently at the Tryall Club.
Schatzie Fairview joins a host of companies that have transformed the city of Montego Bay in a westerly direction.
