With the fabulous weather we enjoy most of the year, Jamaicans just love the outdoors. But sometimes creating that perfect space that allows us to make the most of it is difficult.

A boutique hotel located in the green hills of Portland has found the magic recipe and has created a perfect marriage between the indoors and out.

Located on seven acres of the San San estate in Portland, Geejam is all about maintaining harmony with nature.

The property's seven double rooms are encompassed in three deluxe cabins, one suite, and a self-contained three-bedroom villa which is perfect for an entire family. The property also houses the popular Geejam recording studio, a healing spa, gym and the Bushbar.

Sanwood

The nautical theme of this villa, with its white interior decor makes it feel wide open. A similar white decor characterises all the cabins, as do folding doors and a wall of windows and doors that eliminates any barrier with the surrounding vegetation. This creates an unobstructed and awesome view of the Caribbean Sea.

Cabins

The hardwood floors in the rooms also help to bring the feel of the outdoors inside. All the cabins have expansive verandas with all the creature comforts you could desire. There's no better place to feel at peace with nature than on these verandas. Two of the cabins have double verandas, one of which boasts an exquisite Jacuzzi. Now what more could you ask for from this majestic hideaway?

One of the most outstanding of the cabins is Drum and Bass. Situated on the ground floor of the Geejam recording studio, it has Brazilian Cherry wood throughout, fold-out panel doors and wicker chaise lounge chairs.

Throughout the property, the small but very elegant bath and steam rooms are outfitted with elegant Hansgrohe and Philippe  Starck lines of deluxe bathroom fittings. It's all about clean lines which make the smallest of spaces very welcoming.

Private beach

Across the road from the property is the private beach that is another haven where you can easily melt the day's stresses away. The landscape is littered with lounge chairs and beach umbrellas, adirondack chairs, and these are complemented by bright red four-poster day beds that take outside lounging to new heights. Your personal space may not have such views but a simple adironndak chair can make all the difference to the smallest space.
