Macka Diamond and Rich Kid have ended a North American East Coast promotional tour, hitting a slew of mainstream media from Toronto through to Quebec City, Boston and Philadelphia.

The two embarked on the tour in order to promote their as-yet-unrelerased collaboration, What Must I Do. While it is not common to promote unreleased material, an enthusiastic Rich Kid said the move was not unusual.

"Hypothetically speaking, it's not unusual. Most of us as reggae artistes, whenever we write a song, we generally perform it publicly before recording it, once the song have great potential," he said.

Macka Diamond also shared that view, saying promotion is the key to hit records.

"Promotion is the key to a hit tune. For us to be out there blazing the trail, touching base with people in the mainstream, is an avenue for our material to reach the greater masses," she said.

What Must I Do is recorded on the 'Controversy' rhythm. The Controversy album features ZJ Liquid, Kip Rich (ft Don Marrow), Mr Lexx, Wasp, Shaka Pow, Thugsy Malone, Mr Charge, Black-er, Donna Makeda (ft King Ujah), Element, Fancy Face, Johnny Profit, Karamanti, Newton Walker, Rapper Set and Shelly J and Terro.
