Pepsi in on the Dream
The highly anticipated Smirnoff Dream Weekend gets under way in early August. Pepsi Jamaica will be along for the ride this year, adding their special flavour to the popular party series.
Pepsi will be providing the week of 'raving' with a large monetary contribution, in addition to the company's wide range of products. Essential Water, Pepsi, Ting and other beverages will be readily available to patrons of the party series set to happen in Negril, starting on Wednesday, August 1.
The Dream Weekend will comprise the Dream Live Concert on August 1, then, on each of the days following, Beach Rave House Music Party, Igloo and Twisted Spiritz, Daydreams and Yush August, Extreme Wet and Wild, Dream Miami Jouvert and Beer Vibes, then the closing Smirnoff Xclusive and Short Circuit on August 6.
Pepsi will have exclusive non-alcohol beverage rights for everything from water and energy drinks to carbonated beverages. They will also be educating patrons on how to drink responsibly and why it is important to stay sober. Special detox zones will be erected at each event.
According to Carlo Redwood, head of marketing for Pepsi Jamaica, products like Tropicana and Pepsi mix well with products from title sponsors Smirnoff and the Diageo line that will be consumed in large quantities throughout the week as thousands of Jamaicans set out to have a wild, fun-filled time. This gives Pepsi an even greater opportunity to continue to be the preferred choice in Jamaica.
Redwood said they will be encouraging patrons to have spacers between rounds of drinking. "We want to make sure everybody is OK during the week," he said. According to Redwood, "Dream Weekend is the biggest party week in Jamaica. It's all about our patrons enjoying the music and having a great time. And that's what Pepsi is all about."
The Dream team recently signed an agreement with ATI to implement its legal age initiative, whereby only persons 18 and over can attend the weekend parties.
"This is in keeping with and will reaffirm our commitment to eradicating underage drinking at our events and will enforce responsible drinking," said Scott Dunn, speaking on behalf of the Dream team.
