Second instalment for Pepsi Comedy series

Jamaica's most popular comic duo, Ity and Fancy Cat, were the opening act at the Pepsi Music Comedy series debut which was oversubscribed by comedy lovers.

The two had the crowd bursting at the seams with jokes directed at Jamaican politicians and members of the audience.

Ity and Fancy Cat were accompanied by Cassie 'Tan Deh Deh' Grant who was definitely a crowd favourite.

The series continues tomorrow at Usain Bolt Tracks and Records and will feature entertainer Christopher 'Johnny' Daley and his colleagues, upcoming comedians 'di endz'. Johnny has been absent from the comedy scene for a while and is thrilled to be back, saying, "I'm ecstatic that Pepsi has decided to do this, it has been a long time coming. I haven't done a stand-up routine such as this in a while, so I'm looking forward to it."

Actor/comedian/singer/songwriter Donald 'Iceman' Anderson will be hosting the show.

Iceman believes that it is a great move by Pepsi and it will help to highlight the underexposed talent in Jamaica.

"Comedy needs the avenue, the push, the exposure to showcase this great talent pool in Jamaica and this is what Pepsi is helping to bring to light on an even greater platform," he said.

Carlo Redwood, head of marketing at Pepsi, explained that this is the motif of the Pepsi Music Comedy series, "We want to bring this new concept of having comedy along with music, bringing the two together in a party, kind of like Def Comedy Jam in the United States. Americans have their hip hop with the comedy; we have dancehall along with our comedy."

Throughout the night, a guest disc jockey will take patrons back in time, playing from a selection of oldies and the latest in dancehall music.

Pepsi will be offering specials for the night Purchase a jerk meal for instance and also receive a free Pepsi.
