'God's Way' wraps tomorrow

The multi-award-winning drama, God's Way, is hosting final performances this weekend as the show wraps up its encore run at the Pantry Playhouse. There will be two shows today, one at 5:30 p.m. and one at 8 p.m. The same holds true for tomorrow.

There will be no held-over performances, so patrons are being urged to catch the show now or never.

"We make way for another production, so there is no opportunity for extended performances. Of the five shows, three are benefit performances, so tickets for this final weekend are very limited. Those patrons who don't want to miss it, or have been waiting for the last minute, have to reserve right away," explained Dahlia Harris, the show's playwright, before yesterday's performance.

God's Way has earned critical acclaim for its realistic and powerful portrayal of one woman's test of faith and the challenges she must face in order to overcome. The show features Ainsley Whyte in his Actor Boy Award-winning role as 'Deacon Russell', Sabrena McDonald, and Trudy Campbell, while Nadean Rawlins has replaced Dahlia Harris in the lead role of Valerie.

Rawlins is fresh from her Actor Boy victory for her engaging portrayal of Joycie in Basil Dawkins' Where is My Father. God's Way also copped Actor Boy awards for Drama and New Jamaican Play.

Written and directed by Harris, God's Way continues to enjoy popular demand from theatre audiences and is slated for performances in the Bronx, New York, on August 18, and Cayman on August 25.
