Homer Davis' daughter, Tamika, described her dad as a formidable man with an unwavering commitment to community.
Norman Brown's daughter, Jheanelle, spoke of a father whose impressive drive towards success inspires her.
Brown and Davis, uncle and nephew, drinking buddies and rock stone Labourites, were being toasted by their daughters as they celebrated their 50th and 60th birthday party, respectively, on the greens of the Ironshore Golf Course in Montego Bay last Saturday night.
An attorney by profession, Tamika, the smallest of twin girls, said she felt an incredible warm spot for her father growing up, because of his strong belief in excellence, hard work and his mantra for education. "He lived the very principles he instilled in us. His dedication and purpose are very obvious," she said.
For Jheanelle, her father has always been there for her in every possible way. With conviction, love and immense admiration, Norman Brown's daughter said one of her greatest wishes was to be able to spoil him when he gets to 110, the combined age of the two celebrants.
Their wives, Dr Carleen Grant and Jennifer Brown, gifted them with cakes depicting their sensibilities. Norman Brown received a replica of a football field decorated with the Liverpool colours, while Homer Davis' 'shirt cake' had the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) symbol of the bell on the breast pocket, '100 per cent Jamaican' inscription in the collar, and a green tie around the neck.
"Homer blazed a trail that I have followed. He is always there to push me to achieve," said Brown, his admiration for his uncle evident.
Homer Davis is also an active parish councillor in the St James Parish Council.
