Voltage plans final summer shock

Clarendon-based promotion outfit G Squad Entertainment is gearing up to host Voltage, its first event for 2012, tomorrow. According to the promoters Voltage will be packing the last heat of summer.

Rayon Burrell, co-promoter in G Squad which comprises himself, Junior Graham and DJ Fire Alley, believes Voltage patrons will have a reason to sweat tomorrow. "The summer is at its closing stage and while it was exciting for many, we want to put the official stamp on this season by making our patrons sweat on last time. So Voltage will bring the heat one last time by our entertainment value. Hotness will be in overload," Burrell said.

The party's theme is 'Cooling Summer with Hotness'. It will be held at Mugg's Headquarters hosted in New Ground district, Chapleton, Clarendon.

According to Burrell, the venue is far from residential areas, which means there is more time to party. "The venue at Mugg's is very cool and has a comfortable ambience for our patrons. Adding to that it can be a chill spot and it is not very close to residential spots, therefore we can party longer and hotter than the average events and our intention is to use that to the fullest," he said.

Voltage will carry drink specials on mixed liquor; however, premium beverages will have to be purchased at the designated bars. Burrell believes this arrangement is perfect, considering that admission is free. "Our main and ultimate intention is to ensure that the patrons who turn out will have a good time and that is why we have absorbed admission fees for the event. So all you have to do to be a part of summer's final hotness is simply dress the part and prepare to indulge in good music and liquor," Burrell said.

The DJs slated to play are the Clarendon based DJ Fire Alley, DJ X-Con, Ex- Fusion Sound, and DJ Andrew Blacks. Gates will be open from 6 to 3a.m.

Voltage will carry its own designated parking area. Soup and water will be available for sale. "Over venue is quite safe. We will have additional support from our local police. New Ground, Chapleton, is a largely a peaceful area, so patrons can come out without having concerns. But at the same time we still encourage the best behaviour from our impending audience. as well as responsible drinking. Let us party like it the last for summer - and it is," Burrell said.
