Marketing and promotions company Profound Entertainment has collaborated with Butchers Block, Taylor Hall, University of the West Indies (UWI), to host the second annual Wet Fete.

According to founder of Profound Entertainment and former cultural chairperson for Butchers, Lamar Antonio, Wet Fete 2012 will deliver a rounded entertainment package.

"This year Wet Fete has the theme 'Foam Fiesta' and we intend to deliver full-fledged entertainment and value for money. At the end of Wet Fete, no single patron should be left unsatisfied," Antonio said.

The event is the only water party to be hosted at UWI's Students Union in the first semester and will feature DJ Nicco, ZJ Ice, Razz and Biggy and UWI, Mona-based sound system Afta Shakk.

According to Antonio, last year the party made its mark on the campus and patrons should expect nothing short of last year's showing.

"If last year's staging of Wet Fete is anything to go by everybody should be at Wet Fete, Foam Fiesta, tomorrow. This event will bring together the allure of a water-world fantasy with the promise of fun-filled moments and pulse-quickening sounds of the hottest DJs to produce the most dynamic party experience," he said.

"In order to provide an experience second to none, we will be introducing three levels of fun and excitement. Level 1, Liquid Fantasy, is the wet zone and will have all the water features like a 20-ft pool, 40-ft water slide, mega foam pit, water balloons, water cannons, mist machines, water truck and the mega wet bar," he said.

"Level two is dubbed Tropical Oasis and is the dry zone. This area features body painting as well as body piercings, a mechanical bull, two hassle-free bars and a detox bar. Level three is our premium inclusive VIP area, Atlantis. This will be an unforgettable experience with a real exclusive feel. This area will feature nothing but the best, as this is our premium drink-inclusive area. We'll have a top-shelf bar. This exclusive elevated lounge area will be overlooking the party, so nothing will be missed," he promised.

In addition to the excitement and gadgets on the dance floor, Profound Entertainment has also carved out special drink deals to present an affordable treat to patrons.

"We will be having two-for-one Appleton mixes all night and some of Butchers Specialty mixes. We will have the return of the rum-circle and the introduction of the rummy-gummy," Antonio said.

Wet Fete patrons have a variety of deals to choose from. Tickets are $500 presold and $600 at the gate, with VIP costing $1,200 presold and $1,500 at the gate.

"The security of our patrons is our primary concern on the night of the event. With that said, we will hire security personnel, as well as police officers, on site. All persons will be subject to a search upon entering the venue, as no weapons or illegal items will be permitted in the venue," Antonio said.

"Parking attendants will be on-site directing patrons to the designated parking lot, parking will not be a problem, as there will be a general parking lot and a VIP parking area."

Ticket Outlets for Wet Fete are Grandeur at 7th Ave Plaza, Salon Splurt at UWI and the Taylor Hall Commissary.

Revenue from the event will be towards block development and fostering the development of the Mona Commons Basic School, an outreach project undertaken by the block for over nine years.
