Dine like a star on the waterfront

Participating in Restaurant Week for the past five years can prove quite challenging when it comes to creating innovative menu options. However, The Red Jack Restaurant at the Morgan's Harbour Hotel has been doing its best to showcase the creativity of its chefs.

For this year's Restaurant Week, the Port Royal eatery is showcasing the restaurant's star-meal snapper rundown. Jamaicans might be used to a mackerel rundown, but the snapper rundown is quite popular and loved by all, according to senior chef Latoya Francis.

"It has to do with the rundown sauce. Ours is very different because it has a little piece of Port Royal. Our special ingredient is the coconut rum that is added to the sauce to make the rundown," she shared.

As a result of the addition of a secret ingredient, the taste is what makes it unique. "It's very unique and different from any other fish meal that is prepared, and this specific dish can only be obtained at this restaurant at this hotel," she ended.

Morgan's Harbour Hotel prides itself on being the only waterfront hotel in Kingston offering patrons comfort and solace away from the bustle of Kingston. The star meal has been part of the restaurant's menu for over 10 years and was introduced by one of the chefs, who wanted to bring something new and exciting and out of the norm. Served with either a side of bammy, rice or festival and veggies, the restaurant's star meal offers a tantalising treat for patrons who are willing to try new things in a serene and breathtaking setting.
