Enjoy 'Spicy Special' and 'Schweet'

The Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week is just around the corner, November 9-17. The participating restaurants across the island will have special cocktails in lieu of the eighth staging of the fab food fare. Wisynco, under their brand Schweppes, has partnered with Appleton Estates to create two special cocktails for patrons to enjoy during the well-anticipated weeklong event. Even though restaurant week has not yet started, here are the recipes for the Spicy Special and Schweet for you to enjoy before, during and after restaurant week.

Spicy Special

2oz Appleton Special

Schweppes ginger ale

1/2oz lime juice

3/4oz cocktail syrup

Method

Combine rum, lime juice, cocktail syrurp into a shake. Shake and serve over fresh ice in to a highball glass, top up with ginger ale. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Schweet

1 1/2oz Appleton Genesis

1oz Schweppes grapefruit

1/2oz peach schnapps

1/2oz cocktail syrup

Method

Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shake. Shake and serve in a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lime spiral.
