More than just great food
During Restaurant Week, diners at Platinum Restaurant at Jewel Dunn's River Resort and Spa, can expect more than just great food.
According to executive chef Ravi Anne, diners can make use of other facilities at the hotel, which is the only restaurant in Ocho Rios area included in the delectable category.
"They will want to have a nice dining experience so they have the privilege of enjoying our entertainment package also," Ravi explained. "After they finish their meal, they can go into our entertainment centre. Every night, it's a different show, and they can enjoy the show. That's why we are different. They come, they have a welcome drink, they dine, and they enjoy the entertainment."
Platinum took part in the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week for the first time last year and the experience was great, prompting a return this year.
Among the favourite dishes last year were snapper in coconut milk saffron and lobster with passion fruit batter.
This year, diners can expect to enjoy new tastes and turn new dishes into their favourite as the team goes all out to ensure satisfaction.
This year, they have a new menu which includes Caribbean-style lobster, beef sirloin, jackfruit cheesecake, among other delicacies.
"Dining at Platinum is more like a Caribbean restaurant, because we're showcasing some new trends," Ravi notes.
Platinum uses strictly Jamaican ingredients, nothing is imported, according to chef Ravi.
"Last year was good. This year, we're expecting more people than last year and we're prepared for that."
