Great food in a relaxing setting
Restaurant week ambassador DJ Bambino and his wife, Shauna-Gaye Hart, were guests of the Rojo Restaurant at the Spanish Court Hotel as a preamble to the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week.
For Shauna-Gaye, the best part of the meal was the appetiser - red peas soup. "It filled my stomach when I was hungry," she said.
Bambino thought that the lamb, his entrée, was the best part of the meal - down to the bone.
Of course, what made it even better was the company. Shauna-Gayle recounted their experience. "The service was good. The food was good, much better than a previous experience that we had here before," she stated.
Her main course was the filet mignon. Bambino had the pumpkin bisque as his starter and the braised lamb shank, which he thought was really good, because, as he said, he was "eating off the bone".
The couple dined last Friday night, two days after Hurricane Sandy hit the island, so Bambino confessed that one of the best things about the restaurant was the electricity. The ambience was another plus, because it was a relaxing, clean and very comfortable environment.
Eating out to the couple means a night out without their son, just to enjoy a meal that isn't cooked at home .
The Restaurant Week ambassadors will again be out during November 9-17 at a restaurant nearest to you!
