Blake triumphs in tough season
Adrian Blake, the motorcycle champion for 2012, has endured what he described as a very difficult season which was worth it in the end.
"It was a very tough season for me and the reason for this was because my competitors are 10 years younger than me, some of them even younger, and, as a result of that, the fitness level and the challenges of everything were very difficult. I was also operating this year without any pit crew and I won the championship, which, for me, was exceptional" Blake told Automotives.
"What it really boiled down to was some serious calculation and experience. I was able to pull something out of the hat and I enjoyed that very much. I have been riding bikes for over 30 years, but I enjoy it even more when I beat these younger fellows. That is always a high point for me," he added.
Having won five out of 11 races this season, Blake has his sights set on a much bigger haul for the 2013 season.
"Next year, I plan on getting a faster bike. I want to dominate the year and set my goals a little higher, as out of the 12 races I will see if I can win 10," he said.
