JoJo's Jerk Pit was transformed into a Heineken arena on Saturday when it acted as the base of operations for the Heineken Crack the Case Scavenger Hunt.

The competition sealed the deal for the onslaught of promotional activities leading up to the grand premiere of the latest film in the James Bond franchise - Skyfall.

Two hundred anxious and hopeful individuals turned out to participate in the scavenger hunt. The mission was to embark on an adventure across Kingston and St Andrew to use the clues in a bid to earn the most points and the first shot at cracking the case.

The army of sleuths, in teams of four, had to watch Heineken's The Express commercial before commencing.

vital clues

According to Imru James, assistant brand manager for Heineken, the ad contained vital information that would help the teams. It was then go time and the teams sped to their vehicles to begin the gruelling rat race.

It wasn't long before some of the teams started streaming in again. Most of the teams had not returned when officials decided to go ahead and let the ones that did arrive have a chance at cracking the case.

Breaths were bated as each team made an attempt at getting the combination that was to open an intriguing looking, metallic briefcase. After four attempts, the fifth team finally got the case open and walked away with the winnings, much to the disappointment of the other teams, especially those waiting to have their turn.

Those invited to the Skyfall premiere tomorrow should expect to see the four super sleuths in attendance, as they each won two tickets to see the highly anticipated film.

Along with the tickets, the team also won an all-expense paid stay at a Sandals property. The rest of the top five teams also received prizes for their efforts.

Levaughn Flynn, public relations manager at Red Stripe, the distributors of Heineken in Jamaica, revealed to The Gleaner that Heineken had partnered with the HEART foundation in a charitable effort to make the premiere a truly special one.

The premiere's after party is set to take place at the Fiction Lounge in Constant Spring and all are invited.
