'Tis the season to be jolly and what better way to get that jolly feeling than to give a unique gift to someone special. With this in mind, Outlook visited PLATED for home furnishing and found some ideal goodies.

The brand PLATED represents a culinary lifestyle, as its tag line suggests - an interesting take on how a person lives, feels and surrounds him or herself with.

Opened recently under new management, the former Ambience, now PLATED, is owned by Nadja Davis.

It stocks a variety of homeware items including top European brands like Villeroy & Boch, WMF, Waeschtersbach and Retsch and American brand Chilewich.

The variety of tabletop collections, dining room and kitchen accessories by iconic potter, designer, author and personality Jonathan Adler caught our attention.

Adler, out of New York City, has dedicated his work to bringing style, craft and joy to the home. Combining mid-century modern art with global pop, his tabletop collection is internationally recognised.

Included in his artistic homeware pieces are candles, plates and coasters, all part of a culinary lifestyle.

Plated is located at 8 Hillcrest Avenue, Store # 2, Kingston 6.
