He did not say his age, but Mike Drakulich of Mystic Mountain tourist attraction in Ocho Rios made it known at his birthday party on Saturday night that 2012 marked his 40th year in Jamaica.

And the crowd that turned out to celebrate with him at his seaside villa in Old Fort Bay, St Ann, made it known that he is well loved, beginning with his staff, several of whom have been working with the goodly gentleman long before Mystic Mountain opened in 2008, while he was involved in water-sports activities.

Among those present were Olympic star Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, recording artiste Tony Rebel, who sang Happy Birthday to Mike, Dr Osmond Tomlinson and wife Charmaine Deane, sales director at Jewel Resorts; Sandra Henry of Trafalgar Travel, Stafford and Marilyn Burrowes of Dolphin Cove, businessman Paul Goldsmith and family, Custos R.O. Walters and wife Norma, George and Venelle Passmore of Five Star Water Sports and many others.

Chefs Dwight Watkiss and Marlon Vanhorne did superbly in the kitchen, leaving several guests lining up for seconds.

The Unique Vision band added the musical flavour to the night's proceedings, backing a fine performances by Gem Myers and Tony Rebel.
