Jamaicans are in store for delicious meals when they enter the new fast food seafood restaurant in Kingston. Fish Pot the Fry Fish Shop, located at 391/2 Half-Way Tree Road, opened its doors earlier this month and the response, thus far, has been tremendous.

Fish Pot, innovative in its concept and design, is not a new concept. The entity opened its first branch on Main Street, Christiana, in Manchester two years ago. The response was so good that Rainforest has replicated the concept here in Kingston.

Roger Lyn, managing director of Rainforest Seafood, told Food on a quick tour of the facility that "The restaurant endeavours to please the Jamaican palate by providing a wide variety of freshly prepared seafood dishes in a clean, efficient environment." Pepsi and Tru-Juice are the restaurant's partners, and Lyn affirmed the restaurant is very proud of its commitment to partner with these established entities.

The counter-and-stool seating brightly coloured restaurant depicts vibrancy, bringing seafood to life. Fish Pot offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, catering to the seafood cravings of the everyday man at a modest cost of $500.

The truly Jamaican menu includes steamed fish and festival, ackee and salt fish, shrimp and 'Skoolaz' meals.

Fish Pot's corporate chef, Evrol Ebanks, stated that the restaurant only uses local ingredients and produce in preparing meals. Soups, fritters, steamed fish, and curried shrimp are everyday offerings.

Max Jardim, management trainee, declared they recently incorporated courier services within the Corporate Area for only $350 per delivery. They also plan to integrate a new concept called Big Fish Fridays, where fish lovers can order 1-3 pounds of fish, along with any side order.

The restaurant's long-term goal is to open other locations in Jamaica.
