Goat meat

This is fairly easy to come by this week in most markets. The asking price for a pound is $280. Supermarkets are asking as much as $450 for a pound of goat meat this week.

Pak choy

Also easy to come by in markets across the island, most rural markets are asking $50 for a bundle. This same price will be asked at Montego Bay's Charles Gordon market while in downtown Kingston's less-expensive locations, the asking price is $40 for a bundle of pak choy.

Green bananas

May Pen and Spanish Town markets are asking $80-$90 for a dozen green bananas this week. Less expensive downtown Kingston outlets are asking $60-$70 for a dozen green bananas this week.

Lucea yam

This refined-tasting staple is on good offer in markets across the island.

Montego Bay's Charles Gordon market is this week asking prices ranging from $60-$70 for a pound of Lucea yam, while the asking price in downtown Kingston is $50 per pound.

Pumpkin

The asking price across the island, including Montego Bay's Charles Gordon Market is $50 per pound. However, in downtown Kingston you can get a pound of pumpkin for $30-$40.

Carrots

These are in very good supply in markets across the island. Montego Bay's Charles Gordon Market has a price range of $50 to $60 per pound. In downtown Kingston, the asking price for a pound of carrot will be $40 this week.

Dasheen

If this happens to be one of your favourites, then it is in very good supply this week. The asking price across the island is $50 per pound.
