Myrna Hague

She has been dubbed Jamaica's First Lady of Jazz by admirers and lovers of that musical genre. That is no surprise as long before it was fashionable, or even accepted, Myrna Hague worked tirelessly promoting the music of jazz to Jamaican audience, leading to the founding of Jamaica's first-ever jazz festival.

The consummate artiste, Myrna Hague, the musician/performer, is celebrated internationally for her talent and storied performances around the globe. According to her critics, she makes the music come alive by infusing it with her own life force.

A remarkable toast by music critics but not one that is unjustified as Hague is that rare breed of performer that wraps herself in the music, then envelops her audience. And in her own inimitable style, she transports both herself and her audience into the beautiful world of music.
