The Jamaica Pegasus came alive with sheer sophistication and elegance at the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce's recent 31st annual awards banquet.

Elegant evening gowns in royal blue, red, black, purple, gold, even beige, flowed and swayed on the red carpet, clinging to feminine curves, while men remained true to form, suave in their black, grey and beige suits.

Blueprint Consulting went all out to make the awards the ultimate red-carpet event. Nominees, sponsors and well-wishers all paused on the red carpet for a photo and video opportunity paparazzi style.

After leaving the red carpet, they were guided to either visit the brightly branded Johnnie Walker bar for a taste of the timeless drink, or for those who truly wanted to share in the Johnnie Walker experience, they could make their way to the mini stage where they were able to pose and take a picture as Johnnie Walker, with the black hat and cane.

The pure all-white ballroom, lit by fluorescent black lights, reflected the company's colours of blue and white, in contrast with the dimly lit chandeliers hanging from above. As guests continued socialising at their tables, interviews of the nominees played in the background on a projector erected at the front of the room.

The young and talented all-male singing group Total Five serenaded hearts with songs from yesteryear during a delectable three-course meal.

The big winners of the night of the Best Chamber Awards in the small, medium and large categories were Prism Services Limited, Cari-Med Limited and Seprod Limited, respectively. Other winners of the night included Portland Parish Chamber who took the Best Parish Chamber award, Wendy Freckleton went home with the Individual Community Service Award, Marjorie Seeberan for Individual Chamber Member, and Couples Resort Jamaica who walked away with the Environment Protection Award.

But the biggest winner of the night might have been the winner of the gate prize - a round trip for two to Panama. The announcement was met with screams from the lucky winner and everyone at their table.

At the end of the event, while some guests posed with their prizes, for more photo opportunities, others retrieved their Johnny Walker pictures as every one made their way from what was a glamour-filled affair.
