In the world of auto dealers and franchise holders, Dwight Moore is a pioneer.

Moore's success has brought added pressure on him to succeed, as many see him as their role model in a world where there are few opportunities for a rank outsider to gain a foothold.

With his father being one of the single largest private owners of public transportation, Moore is more than comfortable with every aspect of the motor vehicle industry. As the KIA franchise holder however, he has been breaking new ground for the brand, making inroads in an area traditionally dominated by European, American and Japanese brands. KIA is, reportedly, one of the fastest-growing brands of motor vehicles in Jamaica today.

As head of a group of companies that includes holdings in gas stations, a pre-owned motor vehicle business, and prized real-estate holdings, Moore is motivated by the legacy of his father, with a view to creating his own, as an inspiration to his children. Today, Outlook shares 10 things we did not know about business and social entrepreneur Dwight Moore.

4. Has been a conscientious eater and fitness buff long before it was fashionable, and has not consumed meat since 1974.
