Forty-nine of the 62 students supported by the International Proxy Parents (IPP) were hosted at the organisation's recent annual social.

Nigerian High Commissioner Olatokunboh Kamson and his wife Gbemisola hosted the event at the commission. In his address, he encouraged the students to do their best to fulfil their dreams.

The students, who were accompanied by their guidance counsellors, were treated to a true Nigerian fare of delicious dishes, including the renowned Nigerian Jolloff rice with a variety of meats, by their gracious guest Gbemisola.

The guest speaker, Denise Adams, was a former student who was supported by the IPP. Now a political scientist and an ordained minister of religion, she thanked the organisation for their support and encouraged the current beneficiaries to "stay focused and finish the race".

Entertainment was provided by Holy Childhood and Merl Grove High School students, who were thanked by students from Rousseau High School.
