Rapid response to robbery praised

CASTRIES, St Lucia (CMC):

Prime Minister Dr Kenny D. Anthony yesterday praised law-enforcement officials for their quick response to the robbery of a busload of tourists at the Botanical Gardens in Soufrière, south of here over the last weekend.

Anthony also heaped praised on the police for detaining a man wanted in the murder of a 22-year-old woman, the attempted murder of a man and the rape of another woman.

Anthony has emphasised the importance of cooperation by the general public to ensure that similar results are yielded in other ongoing investigations.
