Time to be decent, Mr Azan
From behind the frock tails of his prime minister and her permissive Cabinet, Richard Azan has finally found his voice to say it was not his intention to be corrupt when, flouting the Government's procurement rules, he took upon himself to give a contractor the authority to build shops at the Spaldings Market.
Mr Azan, may not have derived "personal benefit" from his behaviour, which was neither transparent nor accountable. This is beside the point; the larger issue is that of democratic governance.
Since Prime Minister Simpson Miller appears not to have it within her to fire Mr Azan, the decent thing for him to do is to resign.
