10 things you didn't know about Ashley Martin
Often described as "young, beautiful and talented", Ashley Martin is
that and more. The award-winning in-demand fashion designer is better
known in some circles as an awesome performer with the ability to take a
well-known contemporary aria and make it her very own. She has earned
herself rave reviews as a top billing singer and a cabaret performer.
Martin
came to prominence as the lead female vocalist with the legendary band
Byron Lee and the Dragonnaires. But prior to her band days, she had
earned herself a fan base working as an entertainment coordinator at
Hedonism II in Negril. There, her guest performances were always a treat
for guests who enjoyed the young performer whose range ran the gamut of
the sultry siren to the purring vixen, or the spunky attitudinal
contemporary diva of song and dance!
She later emerged as one of
the country's leading fashion designers, copping an award for having
designed what is arguably the world's first glass dress, in 2011. This
speaks to her creativity and ability to eschew the ordinary in search of
finding, fulfilling and giving flight to her creative genius.
