Miss Global Jamaica crowned
Pageant King Lachu Ramchandani and his 15 contestants in the Miss Global Jamaica 2013 pulled off a major show at the RIU Montego Bay two Saturdays ago.
With the help of RIU's entertainment team, last Saturday's coronation was the best in the pageant's nine-year history. Over 1,000 persons gathered in the resort's amphitheatre to witness the historic event.
At the end of the evening, crowd favourite, 18-year-old University of the Caribbean College student Roshelle McKinley, walked away with the crown, a scholarship valued at $150,000 from Caribbean Assurance Brokers and a weekend for two at RIU Montego Bay.
Another crowd favourite and second-place winner Leshari Bryon copped two sectional prizes - Most Talented and Most Aware, while third-place winner Shaneen Hosey took home the prize of Most Congenial.
McKinley will compete against 20 international contestants for the Miss Global International crown in September.
That event is slated to be held in Lagos, Nigeria.
