Sleepless and homicidal - Matilda's Corner cops ineffective
THE EDITOR, Sir:
In the past, the loud sound-system parties running until 2 o'clock EVERY MORNING simply interrupted my sleep and left me severely annoyed. Back then, I assumed that the police were at least trying to do their job, as the music would actually shut off around that time.
Nowadays, however, I find myself near HOMICIDAL with sleep deprivation, as dances now BEGIN somewhere between 3 a.m. and 4.a.m AFTER the other ones have finished. There is not even a temporary shut-off to say that the police are on scene or that things simply started back up after they leave. I am not being served by the Matilda's Corner Police Station.
As a disgruntled but solution-oriented human being faced with the problem of non-existent policing, it seems to me there are only two options left: (1) Pray for it to rain every day, or (2) purchase both an unregistered shotgun and an unmarked car to do some patrolling of my own. Driven out of sleep every night and morning, I can safely say I am leaning heavily towards the latter.
