Last night, the fashion world on the rock welcomed another new designer who has what we can truly call a passion for fashion. It's not an everyday occurrence to come upon a stylist who can make the transition as a fashion designer.

But the lovely and always-styling Kaysian Bourke has. Bourke began her career in fashion in 1999 when she had a life-changing experience. She started out by designing and styling pieces for herself and friends, which led her to become the co-owner and fashion editor for a small Kingston magazine, First. This was an eclectic, edgy publication that drew the attention of Vanity Fair and was featured in the fanfare section in one of their best-selling issues, December 2005.

An alum of MIU's Art Institute in Miami, Florida, Bourke graduated with a degree in fashion merchandising. No stranger to the pages of Lifestyle publications for her styling works, Bourke has been featured in quite a few, namely FIRST, Viva magazine, Fader, Trace, College Lifestyle, as well as Puma's online magazine.

Inspired by textures, shapes, the fashion of the 1960s to 1970s, Bourke has infused all these elements in her current 15-piece collection that debuted on the Caribbean Fashionweek stage last night. Every design focuses on flattering a woman's body type and giving her that extra edge to make a lasting impression. Bourke's creative abilities result in an effortless, carefully constructed, wearable, eclectic, and retro line that reflects the kind of woman she is - strong, sexy, confident, outgoing, fun and fearless.
