So, we have all heard of the terrible 20s, the fabulous 40s, the sensational 50s, the serene 70s, and the list goes on. And, of course, those troubled teen years. Until very recently, I was not quite sure what the 30s represented, at least, set against the social backdrop of other milestones couched in honorific terms that suggested a monumental passage of calendar years!

My dears, they have now been dubbed the 'dirty 30s'. But there was nothing dirty about the party of the season, hosted to celebrate the ascendancy of the fabulous Christelle Harris to the ranks of the 30s on Thursday, June 20!

Dears, hosted at the poolside of her family-owned and operated Terra Nova All Suite Hotel, on Waterloo Road, the party was all that and then some, as it communicated style, channelled chic, and was the purr-fect platform to celebrate and embrace the fabulocracy!

And that it was, my dears, as the fabulous Harris, known and celebrated for her sense of fashion, social responsibility and commitment to family, and her ability to enjoy a good party, would have it no other way.

And so it was that when the invitations hit the specially invited, few there were who doubted that this would indeed be a party to remember. But fashion angst there were aplenty, as many were caught off guard by the invitation that stipulated that the dress code was 'wear something sexy'!

Well, pumpkins, sexy it was and in simply fabulous mode as the scions of the well-heeled, donned their designer frocks and ensembles for what proved a simply marvellous birthday celebration.

None of that gauche, gaudy or obnoxious stuff that passes for fashion these days. Nor any of that stuff that was designed as undergarments but is now vulgarly worn as outer garments, as it simply was not that kind of a party. Here, sexy was understood by those who made the cut to mean 'flirtatious frivolity' and not a descent into the vulgar. And so it was, my dears, one absolutely fabulous night for fashion and haute society.

Darlings, as marketing and brand promotions executive for the family RumFire brand of potent party spirits, Harris does know a thing or two about hosting and promoting a good party. As it's universally accepted that the primary ingredients for a successful do are good company; fabulous music, food and libations, and a superb venue - with all those present and then some for her 30th birthday celebration, y'all know we are talking social overdrive here and nothing but!

Oh what a night!

The
celebrations began with the birthday girl, dressed in a flesh-coloured
form-fitting yet modest mini-skirted dress, welcoming her guests at the
lush and inviting poolside fabulously decorated to communicate the
import and fabulous nature of the occasion. And once entering the inner
sanctum of the party, there was no escaping the fact that this was
indeed social prime time and a celebration of the finest
order!

Dears, from the battery of waiters and
waitresses just a nod away from providing guests with their preferred
cocktails, to the lavish offering of finger foods, to the unending flow
of champagne, the absolutely buzzing music, and the television set
placed discretely to the off side of the party area, (it being the night
of the NBA finals for the sports enthusiasts) - it was all about
celebrating life, family and friends, and luvs, flawlessly
so!

My daahling dears, it was a party like no other -
paparazzi and all. It was indeed a celebration of family and friends,
and saw whole families out, including childhood friends of the birthday
girl, and their parents and siblings, as well as family and friends,
jetting in from all over, and it made for a Romanesque spectacularly fab
celebration.

Darlings, as in the party of parties
here and nothing but, oh what a party! And talk about the changing of
the guard, this was a peek into the future and it was hot!! Luvs, the
night belonged to the beautiful people and dear hearts, they were every
