Appropriate signal!

I am extremely impressed with the vision and maturity displayed by the unions and their delegates in partnering with the Shipping Association of Jamaica to reach this historic signing. It sends the appropriate signal to both the local and international shipping community that Jamaica is positioning itself for the expansion of the Panama Canal.
A four-year agreement will allow for greater predictability in cost and conditions of service. It advances the process of creating the type of enabling environment which should facilitate the creation of the planned logistics hub. It also enhances the Port of Kingston's capacity to compete favourably with regional hub ports.
