After months of preparation and anticipation, the Smirnoff Dream Weekend got off to a whopping start at the Dream Live concert in Negril last Thursday, August 1.

Next up, Beach Rave took patrons on a house music journey with DJs Kamal Bankay and Third Dimension at the controls while Twisted Spiritz, the Caribbean's only mixology event, showcased all of the special signature cocktails Smirnoff had created for the event.

By the time Daydreams, the island's first all-white beach party, came around, partygoers were in high party gear. Held at the Long Bay Beach Park on Saturday, it is one of the most popular events on the social calendar and has earned the reputation of being a premium event. Each year, promoters Wright Image Entertainment raise the bar, and this instalment was no exception.

Oasis of refreshment

The food included jerked chicken, jerked chicken pasta, jerked pork, escoveitched fish, fish wontons, curried goat, shrimp pasta, garlic shrimp, and jerked sausage. Draped in white fabric, the venue was breathtaking. This was a wonderful backdrop for most patrons who stuck to the all-white dress code.

In addition, the Ting lounge provided an oasis of refreshment and a detox centre for many. Tired patrons found refuge inside the lounge on the daybeds while others were able to 'refresh' themselves with Pepsi and Ting products.

Right after, partygoers went directly to Heineken Yush for their taste of the '90s.

Xtreme Wet N Wild has been voted the best party in Negril for a number of years. This year, as part of Jamaica's premier party weekend, the event was even more spectacular than expected. From as early as noon on Sunday, partygoers were in queues to get into the Kool Runnings Water Park.

The venue was transformed into a sea of people, outfitted with balloons and floats.

Entertainers TOK and Konshens were in the thick of things as they floated around the pool spraying partgoers with water guns. Other celebrities chose the high ground and opted to enjoy the happenings from inside the VIP lounge. A surprise performance by Konshens as well as a live music video shoot for TOK and Major Laser's song Shell it down were also highlights.

Red Stripe Beer Vibes, held at the Waves Beach Negril on Sunday, was full of 'wicked' selections and dubs.

And on Monday, it was time for Smirnoff Xclusive, and what an exclusive event it turned out to be.

From an endless buffet line of food including shrimp pasta, grilled fish, pork, curried goat, chicken pasta and beef, to copious amounts of music paired with a tranquil atmosphere, Smirnoff Xclusive was a perfect end to an exciting weekend.

Added to all of those offerings, the event was hosted by Mavado, who hasn't performed in Jamaica for some time.
