Gleaner Online went to Chile for two concerts with reggae superstar Sean Paul for the 'Journey to Chile' competition that will allow fans to meet the artiste. While on this trip, Food found out that not only is Sean Paul a foodie who enjoys cooking, but he is also a trained chef who graduated from the University of Technology, Jamaica, formerly the College of Arts, Science and Technology, with a degree in hospitality.

We tagged along with Sean and his group who visited three restaurants while in Chile. First up, Donde Agusto, located in the Mercado Central (Central Market). Here, the group had access to fresh seafood, including baby eels, giant crab and razor clams (cheese stuffed in oyster shells).

Next, it was the Valle Nevado ski lodge perched 9,500 ft high in the famed Andes mountains. A quick bite before the show included a large selection of sushi and a chicken avocado sandwich, both perfect on-the-go dishes.

At the venue, even in the freezing snow, Sean Paul fans drank cold beer, so much so that, after a while, there was less space for the people than the bottles.

Finally, the group had Sunday dinner at Los Buenos Muchachos. In addition to the menu, Sean and his team enjoyed live family entertainment. Local singers, dancers and magicians competed for attention with clanging cutlery until tables and chairs were moved and almost everyone started dancing.

Back to the food, from the appetisers to the desert, food kept coming. Lots of veggies, fish and meat served with Chilean wine and topped off with ice cream. Rice, French fries and avocado are also popular and served with every meal. Here are a few of the dishes that we captured.
