As a vehicle's tyres accumulate water on wet roads, the motorist may lose control if the tyres do not release the water rapidly. Kenton Bryan, fleet sales manager at Tyre Warehouse, explained that "If water is not able to escape from within the thread groove of a tyre, the tyre is able to skid. So what we're simply saying is that tyres that are able to expel water rapidly from the thread groove will prevent the tyres from skidding on wet roads".
