LOS ANGELES (AP):A former South Korean law enforcement officer living in Los Angeles has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for trying to smuggle nearly 40,000 phony erectile dysfunction pills into the United States.

Kil Jun Lee was sentenced Monday in a Los Angeles courtroom. He was convicted in May of trafficking counterfeit goods and other counts.

Authorities said Lee was returning home from South Korea last year when officers at Los Angeles International Airport found more than $750,000 worth of counterfeit Viagra, Cialis and Levitra pills concealed in his golf bag and luggage.

An analysis by a federal forensics lab showed that none of the pills matched the ingredients in the real product.
