Many food lovers had their fantasies fulfilled at the sixth staging of Rib, Rum and Roast held in Liguanea last Friday night. The food-centric and alcohol-infused event, scheduled to commence at 7 p.m., saw many quickly reserving their seats and making their way to the respective tents in an early fashion to partake of the numerous foodie offerings that were available.

Meat lovers visited the tent of Jojo's Jerk Pit for their taste of authentically Jamaican jerked chicken, barbecued chicken, jerked pork and jerked ribs, served with mashed potatoes. Sweetwood Jerk Joint offered jerked pork and Chinese jerked ribs, served with an option of either peppered or sweet sauce. Alhambra Inn Grill and Chill added a touch of sophistication to their food station, showcasing a display of four of their popular dishes while supplying guests with premium burgers.

The Wealth Grillers were not to be left out as the team prepared jerked ribs, jerked pork and jerked chicken, all rich in flavour, served with lobster pasta and many other side dishes.

Patrons, who had a wide array of dishes to choose from, took great pleasure in returning for seconds and thirds, and perhaps losing count after much alcohol.

Vegetarians had the option of indulging in roasted fish with callaloo from Bickles & Beverage. And the oysters from Juicey, the oyster man, were also a huge hit with the crowd.

Desserts, specifically cupcakes, ice creams and milkshakes, surely satisfied the sweet tooth of all in attendance.

Krizzle Kakes rewarded guests with a treat of red velvet, vanilla with cream cheese strawberry preserves stuffing, and mango cupcakes, as well as tropical paradise -- a cupcake consisting of pineapple, coconut and white rum.

Leanne's Sweet Tooth kept within the event's theme, having a cake display in the form of a grill as well as strawberry lemonade, mango cheesecake bites and macaroons, which were also among the sweet variety.

Ice-cream lovers made their way to Kremi ice cream who lured them with popular flavours such as coffee rum cream, strawberry cookie, chocolate vanilla, vanilla, cookies and cream, orange pine, rum and raisin, pistachio cherry, chocolate, stout, and cherry chocolate chip. Everyone received ice cream soda floats made with their favourite flavours of both soda and ice cream, courtesy of the organisers of the event.

All in all, Rib, Roast and Rum was definitely the complete foodie's package.
