New look for Guinness!
As we approach Arthur Guinness Day (AGD) set for September 26, bottling giants, Red Stripe, distributors of the fine stout, have changed the label in celebration of its founder. The new label boasts the trademark colours of Guinness, black and gold, with a background of the world and the signature of Arthur Guinness.
The new bottling also features the date of the Arthur Guinness Day celebrations, scheduled for the National Indoor Sports Centre, that will include Busy Signal, I-Octane, Bunji Garlin among others on the line-up. The new collectors item is available in outlets, bars and supermarkets islandwide.
According to Kamal Powell, brand public relations manager at Red Stripe, the new label is another way for the brand to highlight the contributions made by its founder and remind persons of his philanthropic work.
"The changing of our packaging shows our commitment to community involvement and the development of our nation. Arthur Guinness made significant contributions to social programmes, and right here in Jamaica our outreach work will assist projects and institutions that need it the most," Powell said.
This year $1.5m will be awarded to five deserving projects.
"We are looking for projects being run by persons who embody the spirit of Arthur Guinness. We want to fund good ideas that will help other people, which is the essence of Arthur Guinness Day," he added.
"Let's raise a toast with Guinness from now until AGD with the new look of our Guinness special edition label. We are also on a search for the best watering hole across Jamaica, so get voting, it could be a bar near you," Powell ended.
This bar or outlet, he explained, will host a pre-AGD event, all courtesy of the brand.
