10 things you didn't know about Jean Lowrie-Chin
She is considered one of the doyennes of the Jamaican public relations and advertising industry, with a client list that is a virtual Who's Who of corporate Jamaica.
Known and celebrated for her wit, loyalty and dedication to the perfection of her craft, Jean Lowrie-Chin is the founder of PRO Comm, one of the region's leading public relations and advertising agencies.
A newspaper columnist, she is also the author of Souldance - a collection of poetry and prose launched in 2009. She is also credited with conceptualisng The Gleaner's Flair Magazine and was its first editor.
On the social calendar, her company's annual Yuletide party is considered a must-attend.
Today, Outlook shares 10 things previously not known about Jean Lowrie-Chin.

1.Lowrie-Chin is a 'Jonkoonu baby'. Her mother went into labour when the Jonkoonu came into their country yard in Hartford, Westmoreland. "I was delivered soon after by the district midwife. I think that's why I love dance parties. I even have a poem in my book about it," she says.
2.She spent most of her lunch hour in high school on her knees praying in the Alpha Chapel, as she was intent on becoming a Mercy Sister. "Meeting my future husband in sixth form changed all that," she reveals.
3.She is paranoid about her children - grown as they may be. Their safety is her sanity as it is always uppermost in her mind.
4.She was a volunteer speechwriter for the late Governor General Sir Florizel Glasspole and became very close to his wonderful family. She was also a teacher and taught at Calabar High School.
5.Her first public relations job was with Carifesta 76. "The legendary Wycliffe Bennett and protocol guru Merrick Needham were fantastic mentors. It was exciting to promote the event as a young 20-something in England and Canada," she says.
6.She considers herself a night owl as she believes you miss things when you sleep.
7.Negril is her favourite place in the world.
8.She considers April Fool's Day to be her finest hour! She always has her pranks planned in advance and has fooled many unsuspecting high-profile personalities!
9.Her very first published article was a feature written at age 16 on a young seminarian named Richard Ho Lung in a Chinese-Jamaican magazine called Pagoda. Her interest in writing sees her always with pen and paper - even in the smallest evening bag. "I love to capture pearls of wisdom and share with my readers and friends in social media," she explains.
10.She considers one of her lifetime memories her first meeting with National Hero Sir Alexander Bustamante. Because her husband's family was close to Bustamante and his wife, she was taken to 'Bellencita' in Irish Town to meet them when he and her got engaged. Sir Alexander, visually impaired by then - embraced her, ran his hand over her face and declared her 'a beautiful girl'.
