A 23-year-old who says she is on a mission to show that dreams can come true is the winner of the Miss Global International Beauty Pageant 2013.
Jody Liu, who travelled thousands of miles from Singapore to compete in the contest at the Sunset Beach Resort, Spa and Waterpark in Montego Bay last Saturday night, upstaged Miss Uganda, Sylvia Namutebi, first runner-up, and Miss Bahamas, Lashanda Wildgoose, second runner-up, to take home the coveted crown.
Liu competed against 31 other contestants, including Miss Jamaica, Roshelle McKinley, who won 'Best Figure' but did not place in the top five.
It was the Singaporean who copped the 'Most Aware' prize, helping the judges to make their final decision at the pageant which had its standards lifted with the first-class production by John Swaby Entertainment and Weston Haughton.
The Swaby and Haughton combination complemented the red-carpet effect that the management of Sunset Beach Resort, Spa and Waterpark bent backwards to provide.
