The best of Chinese, Japanese cuisine
With the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week just around the corner, first-timers Northside Kitchen have come on board with a special, complete culinary package just for you.
Located in the heart of Northside Plaza in Liguanea, Northside Kitchen boasts a delectable menu of Japanese and Chinese food dishes.
"I decided to be a part of Restaurant Week to get some exposure and recognition since we've only been open for four and a half months, and I believe that what we are doing, that is, offering both Japanese and Chinese food, is a good thing," admitted proprietor Jerry Lee.
Lee spoke very highly of his team, specifically his chefs, who work assiduously to ensure that the meals are delicious and authentic to traditions of both cultures. "We have a Chinese chef who prepares the Chinese dishes, and we have a Japanese chef who prepares only Japanese food."
Japanese chef Hiromasa Takahashi is a master at sushi. "The sushi is an assortment of five different types of seafood all coming together in one dish that includes salmon, tuna, snapper (non-local), crab, and shrimp. Everyone is used to sushi being just fish, but we used other types of sushi to give our customers variety, and so far they love it," he explained.
For those who are not necessarily sushi fans, the menu for the week also includes: green salad, served with a special Japanese dressing, seaweed salad, sushi, pimento steak, pork and yam in a sea of vegetables, and crispy fried chicken with shrimp chips.
So if you feel for oriental cuisine this Restaurant Week, Northside Kitchen has it all.
