UN Day celebrations
On Thursday, October 24, the agencies of the United Nations (UN) in Jamaica joined the world in celebrating United Nations Day. United Nations resident coordinator, Dr Arun Kashyap, hosted a cocktail at the Terra Nova Pavilion, welcoming diplomats and representatives from the Government, and international development partners
The Pavilion was abuzz as the L'Acadco drummers upped the ante and reggae band Yah Roots kept the groove in full gear and had everyone dancing late into the night.
United Nations Day is celebrated worldwide to highlight the work of the United Nations in varied spheres of development across the world. In Jamaica, the day was celebrated under the theme 'Partners for Development: Helping Jamaica to Achieve its Vision 2030 Goals'. Here are the highlights.
