WESTERN BUREAU:Vivica A. Fox and Anthony Anderson turned the OCEAN Style FashionShowcase into a scene which should at least spark talks of another movie together.
The two former co-stars played true to their personas, clashing heatedly while bidding on a pair of designer sunglasses during the charity showcase of the annual event, staged at the Montego Bay Convention Centre on Saturday, November 2.
However, at the end of the evening, it was Anderson who stole the show, and not even top fashion designers - such as Canada's Greta Constantine and GSUS, Jamaica's Ashley Martin, Neahlis, Kokobeenz or Earl's Fashion - could take the limelight from him.
Presented by Appleton Jamaica Rum, organiser Douglas Gordon officially declared: "It is one thing to stage a fashion show of international quality; it is quite another to stage one that attracts and is supported by internationally renowned celebrities year after year."
This time around, Gordon and his team charged the atmosphere with the likes of Flex Alexander and Omar Benson Miller, Chuy Bravo from Chelsea Lately, NFL Super Bowl winner Verron Haynes, West Indies cricket great Jeffrey Dujon, and the NFL's Eric Dickerson.
Now in its sixth year, OCEAN Style FashionShowcase lived up to its promise not just to the attendees, but also the designers, even when the rains threatened to derail the execution.
Some 500-plus invitation-only guests embraced the night's theme 'GLAMOUR', with many looking fit to grace the runway.
A platform that shows the work of top Jamaican, regional and international designers, that night, the spotlight was placed on Keneea Linton-George, who was the recipient of the OCEAN Style Foundation Award.
