Better look at Benz - Silver Star Motors opens new showroom

Pristine grey-tiled floors featuring local craftsmanship, white walls decorated with square shelves and LCD televisions showcasing the latest Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This is just a taste of the décor accentuating the brand new Silver Star Motors showroom at 51 South Camp Road, Kingston, which was unveiled to the public last Wednesday evening.
The showroom is also part of what is known as the Hummingbird Highway, running from the Norman Manley International Airport into downtown Kingston, along South Camp Road and into New Kingston.
Customers visiting the newly opened showroom are likely to bask in the state-of-the art facilities and décor, as they benefit from the world-class service being touted by
the staff at Silver Star Motors, Jamaica's authorised dealers for
Mercedes-Benz.
"This is a state-of-the-art showroom.
It's the newest showroom in Jamaica right now. It's over 8,500 square
feet. The actual sales floor is over 6,000 square feet," said brand
sales manager for Silver Star Motors, Sloane
Jackson.
During the launch, a white sheet draped over
the gorgeous 2014 Mercedes-Benz A45 hatchback was lifted. This
symbolised Silver Star Motors' plans to bring in more AMG
vehicles.
According to Jackson, Silver Star will be
selling a lot more of these kinds of vehicles. He pointed out that the
vehicle that was on display had already been purchased and the buyer
would collect it in short order.
AMG models are made
with a more aggressive look, coupled with improved handling, higher
performance and a more extensive use of carbon fibre than other
Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
"First thing about an AMG is
that it's all about the design and engine. Each engine is hand-built. It
takes several hours to build it from the ground up. Every engine is
blocked by an AMG engine specialist and bears the signature of the
actual man that does it. On top of that, it is the most powerful version
of any model line that we have. It is the most powerful hatchback in
the market today," Jackson pointed out.
The A45
hatchback is also being pitched as the first high-performance vehicle
Mercedes-Benz has ever offered in the compact
class.
Jackson explained that the showroom, built to
accommodate seven cars, will be pushed further to take on a few more.
"Our model range right now is 19 different model lines. If we're going
to stock everything, which my Inter-Americana Trading Corporation
counterpart Garry Clarke wants me to do, it's going to be very hard to
only have seven cars on the inside," he said.
Jackson
noted that the decision to remodel Silver Star's showroom resulted from
the expansion of the Mercedes-Benz model line. Concurrent with that is
the thrust to display a newer look to the vehicles that is cleaner, more
contemporary and youthful. In addition, customers will now be able to
customise their vehicles in even greater
detail.
