Irregular gift wrapping

This toy in the half box that we feared before, Best Expressions makes wrapping it easy.

The pocket look. Now doesn't that look elegant?
Now that awkward-shaped snowman in a box is a beautifully wrapped present ready for delivery.

It is the time for sharing, and we want to present that special gift in a special way for those who mean the world to us. But sometimes that special gift does not have that special shape.

It's not a square or rectangle, so we are left to wrap and unwrap these presents going through sheet after sheet of wrapping paper until we throw our hands up in the air and tuck it into a box, if we can find one.

But recently, our friends at Best Expressions showed us that with a little time and a little more patience, regardless of the shape, we can have our presents looking so good, the recipient may not want to disrupt our creation.

Wine is a very common gift at this time of year. It accompanies us to dinner parties and those special get-togethers, but we just never seem to get it quite right in making that bottle of vino look extra special.

  • FRILL TOP

For that whimsical frill-top look, you should:

1. Place decorative wrap on a flat surface and place tissue paper on top.

2. Put bottle to stand in centre of paper bringing up the paper (sides).

3. Tie a bow at the neck of the bottle and add ribbon if desired and leave top open.

  • THE POCKET LOOK

1. Place bottle on its side on to
wrapping paper.

2. Roll paper over bottle covering it and
cutting off excess. Tape paper on to bottle to
hold.

3. Fold along the contours of the bottom of the
bottle, ensuring it is flat and cutting off excess.

4.
Crease paper at both sides so that it forms a line at the
top.

5. Fold over twice and tape the two ends together
or staple it.

6. Punch two holes in the top that is
folded.

7. Pull strings or ribbons through and tie a
bow.

  • Can or oval
    gift

1. Use wrapper with aluminium backing, not
paper.

2. Pull up sides forming pleats at the top,
cutting off excess as you go along.

3. Tape down on
top to keep it secure

4. Use mesh to form a cross or X
at the bottom and knot on top.

5. Add bow or
ornaments as desired to cover the
knot.

  • HALF
    BOX

When it comes to that teddy bear or toy that is in
a half box, you do not need to find another box.

You
can:

1. Start like a normal box with a flat
bottom.

2. Bring paper up and follow line of the
box.

3. Fold paper on the inside and staple
it.

4. Place bow at top to cover
staple.

If you are still unable to
wrap these gifts, Best Expressions, located at Sovereign Centre, offers
the service of making your odd-shaped gifts look extra
special.
